As the plaques grow, the skin often becomes raised and can join with other plaques to cover large areas of the skin. Psoriasis can appear anywhere, though it typically appears on the knees, elbows, scalp, hands, feet, or lower back.Treatment can involve using lotions to keep the skin from becoming too dry.
