Patient Education Information:

Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition where plaques of thick flakey skin form. Psoriatic plaques are formed by skin cells that grow too quickly, and are typically red, white, or silvery. As the plaques grow, the skin often becomes raised and can join with other plaques to cover large areas of the skin. Psoriasis can appear anywhere, though it typically appears on the knees, elbows, scalp, hands, feet, or lower back.

Treatment can involve using lotions to keep the skin from becoming too dry. Laser treatments are also effective for certain types of psoriasis. Please call us for a consultation to learn how to best treat your psoriasis.
