Dr. Breithaupt specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, Mohs micrographic surgery, reconstructive surgery, non-invasive cosmetic surgery, injectable fillers and toxins, lasers and energy-based devices.
After receiving his M.D. and completing his internship, Dr. Breithaupt did his residency in Dermatology at UCLA. Following residency, he performed a fellowship at UCLA in Mohs surgery, reconstructive plastic surgery, and cosmetic surgery. This exclusive training, undertaken by only one physician per year at UCLA, gives him the unique set of skills that combine the fields of dermatology, Mohs surgery, plastic surgery, and laser surgery that are needed to provide his patients with the best possible results.
Dr. Breithaupt is a leader and expert in the field of dermatologic and cosmetic surgery. He has published over twenty scientific articles, written four book chapters, and given over twenty-five presentations at scientific meetings. His training and expertise give him the ability to uniquely address all aspects of the aging process, many of which patients may not even notice themselves. His understanding of both the science and art of beauty consistently gives patients results beyond their expectations.
Dr. Breithaupt volunteers his time to teach medical students and residents at UCLA and Harbor-UCLA. He particularly enjoys the care of veterans at the West LA Veterans Hospital.
Dr. Breithaupt and his wife Selina live with their dog Luna in Hermosa Beach. He is an avid surfer, athlete, and traveler who can be found in the water or on The Strand all year long.
