Professional Biography:
During the summers while in college, she worked in the laboratories of McDonnell-Douglas-Astronautics – MDAC – and was hired as a chemical engineer upon her college graduation in March 1980. She worked on projects for the space shuttle, as well as the previous space payload rocket – the Delta Rocket. In September 1980, She entered the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical School, graduated with honors and was awarded membership in Alpha Omega Alpha, a medical honor society. Next came an Internal Medicine Internship and Dermatology residency, both at UCLA, where Dr. Healey was appointed Chief Resident in Dermatology in her final year of Residency. In July 1988, she passed the Nation Board exam and joined her current group, Dermatology Associates Medical Group in Beverly Hills, CA.Dr. Healey has continued to teach dermatologic surgery to the UCLA Dermatology Residents for the past twenty years and received an award for outstanding teacher in 1992-1993. In addition, she has given talks about Dermatology topics to both physicians and laypersons. Dr. Healey has continued to learn about new techniques and technologies in Dermatology, and her practice includes not only general Dermatology and dermatologic surgery, but also the use of lasers, Botox injections, sclerotherapy and collagen injections. One significant achievement has been the ongoing success of a general medical text she co-authored in 1990 with an Internist entitled Common Medical Diagnoses: An Algorithmic Approach, a book that targeted medical students and medical residents. The book has been a resounding success among all ages and all specialties. It is now in its 4th edition.

Lasers, specifically vascular lesion lasers for telangiectasias and port wine stains, tattoo removal, and hair removal.
